He lived to age 95. He was listed in the 1850 Census for Daviess Co., IN, living in Van Buren Twp, occupation: farmer. A history of Clarksburg, Daviess Co., Indiana states that the town was platted in 1848 and Benjamin Fulkerson bought the first two lots for $12 each. There was a biographical sketch on B. F. Fulkerson in the "History of Harrison and Mercer Counties, MO," page 533. Benjamin was widowed and living with son Jasper at the time of the 1880 Census. His occupation was landlord.
